In 2008 LionHeart set up a Justgiving account to make it easier for supporters to donate and raise funds for good causes. Sponsorship used to be so time consuming, fussing around with cheques and envelopes and paper sponsorship forms. But thanks to the internet, it’s not like that any more. Now any fundraiser can create a fundraising page on Justgiving to collect donations in support of any sponsored event or LionHeart appeal. Just visit www.justgiving.com/lionheart and set up an event account.
Fundraising pages are just like paper sponsorship forms used to be, except they’re online. Instead of traipsing round your office, family and friends asking people to give you cash, you simply create a fundraising page, email it out, and your supporters donate online. You can create an online fundraising page for absolutely anything. Whether you’re taking part in a sponsored walk or challenge, launching a personal appeal or collecting donations in lieu of birthday presents, fundraising for LionHeart is a great way to assist less fortunate fellow RICS members and put something back into a profession that provides so many successful careers. It is rewarding to be part of the LionHeart team, making a real difference to people’s lives.
With Justgiving donating and raising funds online is painless, and fun too, so people can raise more money than they ever thought possible. Justgiving site payments are 100% secure. Plus Justgiving will save LionHeart time and costs by automating donation payments and reclaiming 28% Gift Aid on all donations from UK taxpayers. In return for a 5% administration fee on donations and a monthly subscription fee of £15 Justgiving automatically reclaims Gift Aid on donations made by UK taxpayers who make declaration, and provides LionHeart with the proceeds and detailed reports on all money donated.
