LionHeart’s history spans over 100 years and has seen us develop from a traditional benevolent fund to a multi-layered, multi-faceted service delivery organisation.

From our in-house counselling service to legal advice, employment and financial support, we tailor support for each person who calls us for help, and we also offer a popular programme of training and development workshops and webinars.

We have a friendly, hard-working team who really care about the work they do and the difference they make to RICS professionals and their families. As an employer, we also pride ourselves on a real commitment to work-life balance and a fun, flexible and exciting working environment, and were recently awarded Gold Investors in People status.

We currently have the following opportunity to join the team:

Governance Officer

Two year fixed term contract, part-time

Closing date: 2nd December 2021

Interview dates: 13th and 14th December 2021

Applications to be sent to

LionHeart is part way through an ambitious 5 year strategy to deliver more services to members of the RICS community along with associated organisational growth. As part of this expansion we are looking for a Governance Officer. This is a new role to provide professional support to our Board and manage all our governance processes.

We are looking for someone who has good knowledge and understanding of charity governance and wants to use their skills to make a difference to the people we help. Experience in the not for profit sector is crucial for the role, along with excellent communication skills. Producing board papers and taking minutes is part of the role along with liaison with trustees.

We’re looking for someone to work 2 or 3 days per week (14 to 21 hours).

LionHeart supports a combination of remote and office working and we expect that there will be a requirement to attend the LionHeart office in Birmingham three times a month for team meetings, other meetings and training events. LionHeart also offers regular team development days and training opportunities, a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme and a warm and inclusive culture.

In line with our commitment to opportunities for all we warmly welcome applications from BAME individuals and guarantee an interview to disabled candidates who fulfil our essential criteria. Interviews will initially be conducted remotely and hopefully in person for the second stage.

Salary will be within the range £29,945 to £33,273 FTE.
