LionHeart signs 50th corporate partner

LionHeart has hit a milestone figure in its work with the surveying community after signing its 50th corporate partner.

Award-winning chartered surveyors and construction consultants Martin Arnold has recently become the 50th firm to sign an MOU with LionHeart.

We began a push to forge closer links with property industry firms five or six years ago, to help us increase our reach and awareness of our services among RICS professionals. This coincided with the launch of a wider LionHeart project to support mental health awareness and wellbeing in the profession, originally developed following the very sad suicide of a chartered surveyor and former company director, John O'Halloran.

Over the years we have provided our corporate partners support with their internal mental health and welfare policies, as well as access to a tailored range of workshops and webinars for their staff, including wellbeing, mental health, and diversity and inclusion topics. We've also contributed to firms' wellbeing and personal development programmes or internal APC training and inductions.

Melissa Gough-Rundle, strategic relationships manager for LionHeart, said: "Over the last few years our corporate partnership work has gone from strength to strength and this has undoubtedly helped us to reach more RICS professionals and new entrants to the profession than ever before. As well as ensuring people know about the range of services they can access for themselves and their families, we're delighted to have built some great working relationships with many well-established firms.

"While we don't ask for corporate donations as part of our partnership work, it's fantastic that many of our partner firms recognise the value we add to them and their staff and they choose to support us, or facilitate ways for staff to fundraise for us.

"Part of our drive to reach people as early in their careers as possible was the hope that we may be able to prevent some of life's challenges from turning into a crisis. We've sought to normalise the conversations around health, wellbeing and accessing support - and to show people we're there not only if things go wrong in life but also to help them thrive in their chosen profession.

"We're so pleased that Martin Arnold has become our milestone 50th firm and very much look forward to working together in future."

Tom Hopkins MRICS, from Martin Arnold, said: "We are delighted to be working with LionHeart, and even more so as their 50th corporate partner!

"We recognise the great work that the charity does in providing a service for RICS professionals and look forward to the ways that we can help each other through this partnership going forward.

"At Martin Arnold we see the importance of having an understanding of life's unexpected challenges that may be faced by our employees, and we are grateful that a partnership with LionHeart can help support us with this."
