New address for LionHeart

LionHeart has officially moved address, although there is no change to the way the charity’s support services for surveyors are delivered.

The decision has been made to downsize into smaller premises in Birmingham city centre, partly made possible by an offer to use meeting space free of charge at nearby RICS premises in Colmore Row.

LionHeart CEO Phil Sparke said: “As a charity solely funded by the generosity of past and present surveyors, we are always looking for ways to ensure that LionHeart uses its resources as effectively and sustainably as possible. We’ve looked again at what we predominantly use our office space for and we are incredibly grateful to RICS for the generous offer to use its nearby space for meetings and our collaborative work as a staff team.

“We also look forward to strengthening our connections with staff at the RICS even further as a result, which can only be positive for the membership.

“There has been no disruption to the way in which we deliver support to the people who need us, and the ways our helpline is accessed remains unchanged. As always, the RICS members that LionHeart is here to support are at the heart of everything we do, both now and in the future, and this is a move that will help us deliver that support sustainably.”

Justin Young, chief executive officer of RICS, said: “With the continuous support and services LionHeart provides RICS members, we are delighted we could offer our premises to help their important work. We are also grateful for this opportunity to strengthen the connections between our staff and colleagues for the mutual benefit of our members.”

Phil also thanked surveyors at two of our corporate partner firms, Knight Frank and Lambert Smith Hampton, for providing pro bono support for LionHeart both in sourcing new premises and in managing dilapidations as we moved out of our previous offices.
