JOH Symposium

John O'Halloran Symposium

The aim of these events is to challenge the stigma attached to mental illness and to raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing.

The first event in 2016, in memory of John O'Halloran FRICS, aimed to be a conversation starter within the property industry and act as a catalyst for change.

In 2017 we aimed to build on this, with three symposium events in London, Bristol and Manchester. The biggest event took place at London U+I on May 9, during Mental Health Awareness Week, with the regional events in the following weeks.

Themed around the significance of mental health and its importance in the workplace, each event featured a thought-provoking programme of speakers including experts from business and the field of mental health.

LionHeart's mental health ambassadors - all from the property industry - bravely shared their personal experiences.

Delegates were also encouraged to find out what steps can be taken within the workplace to show a commitment to raising awareness of mental health and supporting employees in need.

Get involved for 2018!

In 2018, we will be bringing the John O'Halloran Symposium to London, Cardiff, Manchester and Edinburgh, where we look forward to bringing you a thought-provoking programme of speakers and updating you on the progress of our mental health project since last year.

Bookings for the events will open soon.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about these events, to get involved or register your interest in advance, please email Jo Grant, Mental Health Project Co-ordinator at jgrant@lionheart.org.uk
