John O'Halloran Symposium

The aim of these events is to challenge the stigma attached to mental illness and to raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing.

The first event in London in 2016, in memory of John O'Halloran FRICS, aimed to be a conversation starter within the property industry and act as a catalyst for change.

In 2017 we built on this, with three symposium events in London, Bristol and Manchester, highlighting the significance of mental health and its importance in the workplace, and featuring speakers including experts from business and the field of mental health.

LionHeart's mental health ambassadors - all from the property industry - bravely shared their personal experiences.

Delegates were also encouraged to find out what steps can be taken within the workplace to show a commitment to raising awareness of mental health and supporting employees in need.

In May 2018, LionHeart brought the John O'Halloran Symposium to London, Cardiff, Manchester and Edinburgh. Each event included a thought-provoking programme of speakers and personal stories of mental health and recovery.

To complement the awareness-raising symposium events LionHeart runs a year-round programme of wellbeing and mental health workshops.
