Challenge Events – Terms & Conditions 

By registering for a challenge event place with LionHeart you are agreeing to the terms and conditions below. 
 

Fundraising Target 

• You agree to raise at least the minimum sponsorship amount specified for the event, excluding any Gift Aid or employer match funding. This amount will be confirmed to you when you register through Run for Charity and in your welcome email/letter. 
• You acknowledge that the registration fee you have paid is non-refundable and cannot be used towards your minimum sponsorship target. 
• You must aim to have raised a minimum of 50% of your fundraising target two months before the date of your event.
• You acknowledge that if we do not see evidence of fundraising intention and activity, LionHeart reserves the right to cancel your place in the event.  Please contact fundraising@lionheart.org.uk if you intend to fundraise later, in an alternative way such as organising a fundraising event, or want to donate your fundraising target personally. 
• You agree that if you do not take part in the event, any sponsorship money raised will be treated as donations unless your sponsors contact fundraising@lionheart.org.uk directly for a refund.

Fundraising Activities 

• You agree to fundraise using legal methods in accordance with the Fundraising Regulator, as well as comply with the advice given in our Fundraising Guide. 
• You agree that any promotional materials you use must make it clear that you are fundraising “in aid of LionHeart”.

Communications 

• You acknowledge that you will be contacted by email, phone or post in relation to the event you have registered for, allowing LionHeart to deliver the required administration and communication for successful participation in the event. 
• You commit to responding to communications from LionHeart regarding your participation in the event and your fundraising. 
• As the event is organised by a third party, LionHeart has no control over the event. Any changes to the event will be communicated directly from the organisers or Run for Charity. LionHeart will endeavour to communicate any event changes with all registered participants. 

Health, Safety and Responsibility 

• You confirm that you meet any applicable age and health requirements for your event. 
• You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, your general state of health and fitness is good and that you are physically and mentally fit to take part in your event. If in doubt, or if you have an existing medical condition, please consult your GP before participating. 
• You understand that participating in events may involve personal risk, including injury or illness. You accept responsibility for your own health and safety and take part in the event at your own risk. 
• You acknowledge that LionHeart is unable to provide insurance for fundraising activity, and you are responsible for securing appropriate insurance cover, if required, for your fundraising activity or event. 
• You are responsible for arranging travel, accommodation and other logistics for your event where necessary. LionHeart is unable to provide support for these logistics. 
• You may request to defer to a future event if you are unable to participate due to personal reasons or injury. Approval is at the discretion of LionHeart, Run for Charity and/or the event organiser.
